# Parcel Post vs Express vs Standard Mix, Australia Post

> Parcel Post vs Express vs Standard Mix for Australia Post stores. Tracked live in Vortex IQ Nerve Centre. How to read it, why it matters, and how to act on it.

**Card class:** [Non-Hero](/nerve-centre/overview#card-classes-explained) • **Category:** [Shipping & Courier](/nerve-centre/connectors#connectors-by-type)

## At a glance

> The share of your Australia Post volume split across the three core service tiers: Parcel Post (the economy default), Express Post (the guaranteed-speed premium), and Standard / other products. Shown as a donut over the trailing 30 days. It is the single clearest read on the cost-versus-speed trade your despatch operation is actually making, parcel by parcel.

## What it tracks

The card reads the Australia Post product code on each outbound consignment from the Shipping & Tracking API over the rolling 30-day window, buckets each into Parcel Post, Express Post, or Standard / other, and shows each bucket's share of total volume. The mix is a direct lever on your shipping cost: Express Post can run two to three times the Parcel Post rate per parcel, so a few points of share moving between tiers is a real swing in despatch spend.

Watch the mix for drift. A rising Express share lifts cost and your exposure to the next-business-day guarantee (and its refund clause); a rising Parcel Post share saves money but lengthens transit and can dent the customer experience on time-sensitive orders. A sudden shift usually traces to a checkout-copy change, a free-shipping-threshold change, or a default service swap in your fulfilment setup. Pair it with [Express Post Address-Eligibility Rate](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/australia-post/express-post-address-eligibility-rate) to check you are only selling the guarantee where it applies, [Express Post Next-Business-Day OTD](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/australia-post/express-post-next-business-day-otd) for the premium tier's performance, [Avg Shipping Cost](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/australia-post/avg-shipping-cost) for the cost consequence, and [Avg Transit (days)](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/australia-post/avg-transit-days) for the speed consequence.

## Reconciling against the source

Cross-check the split against your consignment export in **MyPost Business** or the **Australia Post Merchant Portal**, grouped by product code over the same 30-day window, outbound only. Differences are normally period-boundary or timezone effects: Australia Post scan and lodgement timestamps are in carrier-local time (AEST / AEDT) and can lag ingestion by minutes to a few hours.
