An Etsy seller cares because the score is an early warning that tells you, in one glance, whether the shop is drifting toward a Star Seller badge loss, a search visibility dip, or a buyer-experience problem before any single metric trips its own alert. A healthy shop sits comfortably in the high range with no component dragging the average down. Each pillar is normalised and weighted, then combined into a single value. Because it is a composite, a strong score can hide one weak pillar, and a falling score always traces back to one or more underlying components rather than the index itself. ## Worked example *Illustrative numbers.* On 14 Jun 26 a handmade ceramics shop sees its Etsy Shop Health Score fall from 84 to 68, tripping the alert at the 70 line. The owner opens the card and sees three pillars holding steady while on-time shipping has slipped, because a kiln delay pushed several orders past the declared processing window. They extend the processing time on the affected listings, message the waiting buyers, and prioritise the backlog. By 21 Jun 26 on-time shipping recovers and the composite climbs back to 81. Open each pillar's sibling card to find the combined cause. **Q: Is the score the same as Etsy's Star Seller status?** No. Star Seller is a pass or fail badge on Etsy's own criteria. The health score is a continuous early-warning index that includes Star Seller signals plus listing and search health, so it moves before the badge does. **Q: Why does my Etsy Shop Manager show a different number?** Etsy never shows a single combined health score, and each pillar inside Etsy runs on its own period and time zone. Reconcile pillar by pillar against the matching Shop Manager view rather than against one figure. **Q: Can I customise the alert threshold?** Yes.
