# Cost by Zone, Japan Post

## At a glance

Japan Post prices Yu-Pack by prefecture-zone domestically and by country-band for EMS, so this card is where the geography of your cost lives.

## What it tracks

This card sums the rated shipping cost of each Japan Post consignment in the last 30 days and groups it by zone. Domestically that means the Yu-Pack prefecture-zone bands (Hokkaido and Okinawa sit in the most expensive bands; the Kanto and Kansai core sit cheaper); for EMS it means the destination country-band (Asia, Oceania / North America / Central America / Middle East / Europe, and so on). The longest bars tell you where consolidation, packaging optimisation, or a service-tier change would save the most yen. Because Japan Post runs an annual Yu-Pack pricing review (typically effective in March), a prefecture can be reclassified into a different zone between periods, so a bar that jumps without a volume change is usually a tariff change, not a despatch-mix change.
