# Revenue Mix by Nordic Country (SE/NO/DK/FI), PostNord

## Worked example

A Stockholm-based DTC outdoor-apparel brand shipping pan-Nordic on PostNord. Reading taken at 09:00 CET on 14 Mar 26 for the trailing 30 days (12 Feb 26 to 13 Mar 26), all values normalised to SEK.

The donut shows Sweden at just over half, Denmark and Norway clustered in the high teens to 20 percent, and Finland under 10 percent. Five things to notice:

1. **This is the lens for every delivery card.** When [OTD by Nordic Country](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/postnord/otd-by-nordic-country) flags Norway at 87 percent, this card tells you Norway is 18.5 percent of revenue, material, not marginal, so the delivery problem is worth real intervention. The same OTD drop in Finland (9 percent of revenue) would be triaged lower.
2. **Norway punches above its order weight.** NO is 18.5 percent of revenue on 14.3 percent of orders, because its average order value (882 SEK) is the highest in the mix. High-AOV customers tolerate delivery cost but not delivery failure, which raises the stakes on Norway OTD specifically.
3. **Finland is the inverse.** FI is 12.8 percent of orders but only 9.1 percent of revenue, the lowest AOV (483 SEK). 4. **Sweden's dominance is the contract anchor.** At 52 percent of revenue, Sweden is the volume that earns the pan-Nordic rate. If a marketing push grows Finland or Norway faster than Sweden, the blended shipping economics shift and the contract may need renegotiation.
5. **The number to watch is drift, not the snapshot.** A single reading is context. The signal is a country's share moving 3 to 5 points period over period: that is either a marketing campaign landing, a currency swing, or a delivery problem suppressing one country's conversion. There is no alert, so this is a card you read, not one that pages you.

## Reconciling against the source

**Where to look in PostNord's own tooling:**

PostNord's own tooling reports parcels and shipping spend, not your sales revenue, so the closest reconciliation is by parcel count and destination, not by revenue. Open the [PostNord Business Portal](https://portal.postnord.com/) shipment report, filter by destination country (Land) over a 30-day window, and compare the per-country parcel shares with [Shipments by Destination](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/postnord/shipments-by-destination). The revenue split itself reconciles against your commerce platform's sales-by-country report (Shopify / BigCommerce / Adobe analytics), since revenue originates there.

**Why our number may legitimately differ:**

## Known limitations / merchant FAQs

**Why does this card have no alert?**
It is a composition view, not a threshold metric. A revenue split has no "good" or "bad" line, the healthy mix depends entirely on your strategy. The signal is drift over time, which you read and interpret, rather than a number that should page an on-call operator.

**My parcel share and revenue share for a country do not match. Is that wrong?**
No, that gap is the insight. A country with high average order value (Norway, in the worked example) takes a larger slice of revenue than of parcels; a low-AOV country (Finland) takes a larger slice of parcels than of revenue. **A country's share jumped between periods. What moved it?**
Three usual causes: a marketing campaign landing in that market, a currency swing (revenue is normalised to your reporting currency, so a strong NOK lifts Norway's converted share without more orders), or a delivery problem suppressing conversion in another country and inflating the rest by arithmetic. Check the orders and AOV columns to tell a genuine demand shift from a currency or arithmetic artefact.

**How does this shape my shipping contract?**
PostNord's pan-Nordic contract blends rates across markets. If your revenue and volume concentrate in the countries where PostNord prices well (often Sweden and Denmark domestic), the blended rate is favourable. **Why might the revenue not tie exactly to my commerce platform?**
Currency conversion timing and the shipment join. Revenue is converted to your reporting currency at the period rate, and each order is attributed to the destination country on its PostNord shipment, so an order without a matching shipment yet (ingestion lag, or shipped on a different carrier) sits outside this Nordic-PostNord view. The platform's own sales-by-country report is the authority for raw revenue; this card is the PostNord-shipped slice of it.
