# Cost by Zone, Sendle

## At a glance

> Total Sendle shipping spend broken down by pricing zone over the trailing 30 days, drawn as a horizontal bar per zone. Sendle prices by zone rather than by exact distance (metro and regional tiers in Australia, a 5-zone tier in the US), so this card shows where your despatch budget actually goes and which zones carry the heaviest spend. No alert fires on this card; it is a structural read of your zone mix.

## What it tracks

The card sums the booked shipping cost for every Sendle parcel in the 30-day window and groups it by the destination zone Sendle assigned at booking. Each bar is the total spend for that zone, read from the `price` and zone fields on `GET /api/orders`. Because Sendle's model is flat-rate-by-zone, the bar length is driven by parcel count and product tier within the zone rather than by individual distance, which makes the shape of the chart a clean picture of where volume concentrates. A long regional or far-zone bar relative to its parcel count is the signal worth chasing: regional and outer-zone parcels carry the higher flat rate, so a small volume there can consume a disproportionate slice of total despatch spend. Cross-check against the [Sendle Dashboard](https://www.sendle.com/) **Billing / Invoices** export for the same 30-day range, grouped by zone; small differences come from period-boundary and carrier-local timestamp handling, and the totals should agree within about 1 percent.
