# Cost Per Shipment Trend, Sendle

> Cost Per Shipment Trend for Sendle stores. Tracked live in Vortex IQ Nerve Centre. How to read it, why it matters, and how to act on it.

**Metrics type:** [Supporting Metrics](/nerve-centre/overview#metrics-types-explained) • **Category:** [Cost & Efficiency](/nerve-centre/connectors#connectors-by-type)

## At a glance

> A 90-day sparkline of your average Sendle cost per parcel, so you can see the direction of travel at a glance rather than a single point-in-time figure. The line answers one question: is despatch getting cheaper or more expensive per parcel over the quarter? No alert fires on this card; it is a trend read, and the slope matters more than any single day.

## What it tracks

For each day in the trailing 90 days the card divides total booked Sendle spend by parcel count, then plots the resulting cost-per-parcel as a sparkline read from `GET /api/orders`. Because Sendle prices flat-rate-by-zone, the line moves for one of three reasons: your zone mix shifted (more regional or far-zone parcels lift the average), your parcel weight or size profile changed (heavier items move into a higher band), or a Sendle pricing or plan change took effect. A steady or gently falling line is the healthy state. A sustained upward slope is the signal to investigate the mix rather than to panic about a single day. Read this card alongside [Avg Shipping Cost](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/sendle/avg-shipping-cost) for the current-period figure the line is trending toward, [Cost by Zone](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/sendle/cost-by-zone) and [Cost per Parcel by Zone (3 AU / 5 US)](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/sendle/cost-per-parcel-by-zone-3-au-5-us) to attribute a rise to a specific zone, and [High-Cost Shipment Outliers](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/sendle/high-cost-shipment-outliers) to see whether a small number of expensive parcels are dragging the average up. If the trend is rising, [Sendle Premium Monthly Subscription ROI](/nerve-centre/kpi-cards/sendle/sendle-premium-monthly-subscription-roi) is worth checking, volume discounts may already be paying for themselves.

## Reconciling against the source

Cross-check the trend against a 90-day spend-divided-by-volume export from the [Sendle Dashboard](https://www.sendle.com/) **Billing / Invoices** view; small per-day differences come from carrier-local booking timestamps and tracking-event ingestion timing, and the period averages should agree closely.
