# High-Cost Shipment Outliers, Shippo

## At a glance

## What it tracks

Average cost cards hide the parcels that hurt. A blended cost per shipment of, say, $7.40 can sit comfortably while a handful of $34 labels quietly eat the week's margin. High-Cost Shipment Outliers lists exactly those parcels: any label charged at more than 2x the period average. The usual culprits are dimensional-weight surcharges on light-but-bulky items, a far-zone (Zone 8 or 9) parcel sent on an expedited service when ground would have done, an oversize-package surcharge, or a manual rate override that bypassed your cheapest-rate selection rule. Each row shows the carrier, service, destination zone, billed weight and the charge, so a despatch lead can spot the pattern in seconds. ## Reconciling against the source

Each flagged row maps to a single Shippo transaction; open it in the [Shippo dashboard](https://apps.goshippo.com/) under Shipments and check the rate breakdown and any carrier surcharges. Shippo bills in account-local time and the card stores in UTC, so a label printed near midnight can fall in a different day than the dashboard shows.
