# RollbackPro Setup and Onboarding for BigCommerce

> End-to-end onboarding for RollbackPro on BigCommerce: install from the App Marketplace, choose subscription, wait for the initial full backup, and tour the four app interfaces (Dashboard, Restore Center, Change Logs, Settings).

Welcome to RollbackPro. This page is the complete getting-started path: install on BigCommerce, choose your subscription, let the initial full backup complete, and walk through the four app interfaces.

## Step 1, install RollbackPro from the BigCommerce App Marketplace

1. Open the listing on the BigCommerce App Marketplace at [https://www.bigcommerce.com/apps/viq-backup/](https://www.bigcommerce.com/apps/viq-backup/).
2. Click **Install**, grant the requested permissions when BigCommerce prompts.
3. The pricing page appears showing subscription plans. Plans are tied to your store's order volume; pick the plan that matches.
4. Click the subscription button to complete payment. The licence activates immediately.
5. As soon as the licence activates, RollbackPro begins the initial full backup automatically.

## Step 2, wait for the initial full backup

The initial backup writes a complete snapshot of every supported entity. Allow some time for it to finish before you start using the rollback features. Duration depends on:

* How many products, customers, orders, and supporting records your store has.
* BigCommerce API throttling on your plan tier (Enterprise has higher quotas than Pro or Plus).
* Your network and BigCommerce CDN responsiveness on the day.

For a small store the initial backup completes in minutes; for a large catalogue (10,000+ products with images and variants) it can take several hours.

While the backup runs, the Sync Status on the Dashboard shows **Active** and individual entity rows show **Active** as their backup completes.

## Step 3, the four app interfaces

RollbackPro has four navigation tabs across the top of the app:

| Tab | What it does | Detail page |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Dashboard** | Store info, sync status, entity counts, recent change times | [understanding the dashboard](/vortex-apps/rollback-pro/understanding-the-dashboard) |
| **Restore Center** | Search, filter, view versions, single / bulk / point-in-time rollback        | [restore center](/vortex-apps/rollback-pro/restore-center)                           |
| **Change Logs** | Change Logs sub-tab (restore activity) and Webhook Logs sub-tab (API events) | [change logs](/vortex-apps/rollback-pro/change-logs) |
| **Settings**       | Real-time on/off per entity, manual backup, scheduled backups                | [settings](/vortex-apps/rollback-pro/settings)                                       |

A **Help** button on every page opens the corresponding help article in the knowledge base.

## Step 4, take the first manual backup of webhook-less entities

The initial install runs a one-time full backup for every entity, including the manual-backup ones. Going forward, however, six entities do not have BigCommerce webhooks and will not auto-update unless you take a manual or scheduled backup:

* Brands
* Coupons
* Promotions
* Blog Posts
* 301 Redirects
* Gift Certificates

Recommended workflow: open **Settings**, click **Backup** next to each of these entities to confirm the initial snapshot is complete and current. Then either set up **Schedule Backups** to run automatically on your cadence, or commit to a manual-backup-before-each-edit habit.

## Step 5, optional, configure scheduled backups

The **Schedule Backups** button on the Settings tab lets you configure automated backups. Pick:

* The entities to include (most useful: the six manual-backup entities above).
* The frequency (e.g. daily, twice daily, weekly).
* The preferred time (run during low-traffic hours).

Once configured, scheduled backups run without further intervention.

## Pre-flight checklist

| Check                                                 | Why it matters                                                             |
| ----------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Subscription paid and active | Backup pipeline only starts once licence activates |
| Initial full backup completed | Confirm via Dashboard sync status before relying on rollback |
| Real-time backup enabled (default on) | Visible per entity on Settings; toggle if you specifically want to disable |
| Manual backup taken for the six webhook-less entities | Otherwise they sit at install-time snapshot |
| Scheduled Backups configured (recommended) | Automates the manual-backup workflow |

## What is in the box after onboarding

| Surface            | Used for                                                                            |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Dashboard tab | Health check at a glance, "is everything backed up and current?" |
| Change Logs tab | Audit of restore operations and webhook events |
| Restore Center tab | Where you actually run rollback operations |
| Settings tab | Per-entity backup type, status toggle, manual backup button, schedule configuration |

## Time-taken expectations

Backup speed depends on your store size, BigCommerce API throttling, and connection speeds. Indicative ranges:

| Store size | Initial backup time |
| -------------------------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| Up to 500 products and 1,000 customers | Minutes                           |
| 5,000 products with variants | Tens of minutes |
| 25,000 products with extensive history | Several hours |
| 100,000+ products | Plan for an overnight initial run |

After initial backup completes, real-time backup is essentially instantaneous (BigCommerce webhook to backup index in seconds).
