# Publish and schedule articles

> Publish articles to your Shopify blog now, schedule them for later, or save them as drafts.

**Publish** lists approved articles and everything already sent to your store.

## Publish an article

**1. Open the article**

Press **Open** on its row.

**2. Set how it appears**

Under **How it appears on the store**, set the handle, banner, author, tags, excerpt, blog and SEO fields. These are saved for you when you publish.

**3. Choose when**

Choose **Publish now** or **Schedule**. To keep it hidden from customers, press **Save as a draft in the store**.

**4. Check and send**

Check **How it will look**, then press the button at the top of the page.

## Pre-publish checks

The app checks an article before customers can see it. If a check fails, publishing stops and the page lists what to fix. You can also press **Publish anyway** or **Schedule anyway** at the top of the page. Drafts don't need the checks, because customers can't see them.

## Scheduling

Shopify holds a scheduled article until its date. It goes live at 09:00 UTC on that day. If that time has already passed today, it goes live a few minutes after you schedule it.

Press **Cancel schedule** to take it back to a draft.

## Statuses

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Ready to publish** | Approved, and not sent yet |
| **Scheduled** | Waiting for its date |
| **Draft in store** | In Shopify, hidden from customers |
| **Live** | Visible on your store |
| **Did not publish** | Shopify refused it. The reason is shown, and you can try again. |

## Find a published article

On a live article's row, **Open** takes you to the article in your Shopify admin. The icon beside its title opens it on your store.
