At a glance

Total and average DHL Paket spend split across the carrier’s zone structure: Inland (domestic DE), EU (member states), and Welt (rest of world). It shows where your parcel budget actually goes by destination band over the trailing 30 days, so despatch and finance can see which zones drive cost rather than which zones drive volume.

What it tracks

The card buckets every outbound consignment into DHL’s published zone bands (Inland, EU, Welt) and sums the rated charge per band, with the average per parcel alongside it. Charges come from the DHL Paket Shipment API (/parcel/de/shipping/v2/orders) rated values, reconciled against the monthly Rechnung (invoice) in the DHL Geschäftskundenportal. Values are in EUR. The point of the split is that a zone can be a small share of volume but a large share of spend: a thin Welt tail often costs more per parcel than the entire Inland book, and surfacing that asymmetry is what makes this a renegotiation and routing lever rather than a vanity number. Read it next to volume-by-destination so you can separate “where we ship” from “where we spend”. This card carries no alert; it is a structural read for the annual DHL rate review (the rate card typically resets on 1 January) and for deciding which zones to push to an alternative carrier.

Reconciling against the source

Compare against the Sendungsübersicht and the monthly Rechnung in the DHL Geschäftskundenportal, filtered to the same 30-day window and outbound only. Differences are usually period boundaries (rolling 30 days here versus a calendar invoice month), surcharges that land on the invoice but not the API-rated value (fuel, peak, Sperrgut), and time-zone alignment on the boundary days. Scan and rating timestamps are in carrier-local German time.
