At a glance

Total Listings is the full count of item listings in your Newegg catalogue, active and inactive alike. It includes every SKU you have submitted: live and sellable, plus inactive, rejected, and expired items. Read on its own it tells you the size of your catalogue; read against Active Listings it tells you how much of that catalogue is actually earning. It sits in the Listing Health category and pairs with the active and rejected listing cards below.
What it countsEvery item listing in your Newegg catalogue, as exposed by the Newegg Marketplace integration. This is the all-states total: active plus inactive, rejected, and expired listings combined.
Sample typeBackend API data from Newegg Marketplace, refreshed on the standard data refresh.
Why it mattersThe gap between Total Listings and Active Listings is your dead weight: items submitted but not selling. A large or growing gap points to rejected, expired, or out-of-stock SKUs eroding your effective catalogue.
Reading the valueRead it against Active Listings, not in isolation. A high total with a low active share signals catalogue hygiene work; a total that climbs without active keeping pace warns of accumulating rejected or expired items.

Calculation

Calculated automatically from your Newegg Marketplace data. The card counts every item listing in the catalogue regardless of state, so it sums active, inactive, rejected, and expired listings into a single total. See the At a glance summary above for what the metric tracks and the worked example below for a typical reading.

Worked example

A representative reading of Total Listings for a typical merchant on Newegg Marketplace. Suppose Total Listings reads 1,840 while Active Listings reads 1,510. The 330-item gap is your inactive, rejected, and expired stock: catalogue you have built but are not selling from. If the total then climbs to 1,900 while active stays flat at 1,510, the new SKUs are not going live, a hint that rejected or pending-attribute listings are piling up. The merchant opens Rejected Listings and Required Attribute Completeness to find the blockers and clear them. For deeper investigation, use Vortex Mind to trace which categories or brands drive the inactive backlog; for natural-language exploration, ask Ask Viq.

Reconciling against Newegg Seller Portal

Where to look in the Newegg Seller Portal: The Seller Portal lists your full item catalogue under its item management area, with status filters for active, inactive, rejected, and expired. To match the Vortex IQ total, clear all status filters so the Seller Portal shows every listing in every state, then compare the unfiltered count. Why the Vortex IQ value may legitimately differ:
ReasonDirectionWhat to do
Status filter. Seller Portal often defaults to active-only; Vortex IQ counts all states.Vortex IQ higherClear the Seller Portal status filter before comparing.
Refresh timing. Newly submitted or just-rejected items may post to one view before the other.VariableAllow for the refresh cadence and re-check.
Filter scope. Profile-level filters (category, brand) may narrow the Vortex IQ view.Vortex IQ lowerMatch filter settings.
Cross-connector reconciliation: complement with sibling cards in the same category for the full diagnostic picture. For divergence investigations, use Vortex Mind.

Known limitations / merchant FAQs

Q: How often does Total Listings update? The card refreshes on the standard data refresh (typically every 30-60 minutes for live integrations). For real-time signals, force a manual refresh from the dashboard. Q: Why does my Newegg Seller Portal show a different number? The most common reason is the status filter: Seller Portal often defaults to active-only, while Vortex IQ counts every state. Clear the filter so the portal shows all listings, then check refresh timing and profile filter scope before assuming a real divergence. Q: How does Total Listings relate to other listing-health metrics? It is the denominator for catalogue hygiene. Read it against Active Listings to see your sellable share, and against Rejected Listings, Out-of-Stock Listings, and Listings Expiring Soon to see what is dragging the gap wider. Q: Can I customise the alert threshold? Yes, sensitivity thresholds are configurable per profile in the Sensitivity tab. Adjust to match your business baseline rather than relying on the generic default.
