At a glance
Required-Attribute Completeness is a listing health metric tracked from Alibaba data. It measures the share of your product listings that have every category-mandated attribute filled in, from material and certification to packaging and lead time. For a B2B supplier this directly drives search relevance and the buyer-trust signal that turns inquiries into RFQs. The card sits in the Listing Health category and pairs with sibling listing-quality cards listed below to build a complete diagnostic picture.
| What it counts | The percentage of active listings where all attributes required by their Alibaba category are populated. Listings missing one or more required attributes drag the score down. |
| Sample type | Backend API data from Alibaba, refreshed on the standard data refresh. |
| Why it matters | Alibaba uses attribute completeness in search ranking and buyers use it to judge supplier credibility. Incomplete listings surface less often and convert fewer inquiries. |
| Reading the value | Higher is better. A reading below the badge threshold means a meaningful slice of the catalogue is under-specified and losing visibility. |

Calculation
Vortex IQ reads your listing records from the Alibaba integration and, for each listing, checks whether all attributes required by its category are populated. It then divides the count of fully complete listings by the total active listings to produce a completeness percentage. Listings missing any required attribute are counted as incomplete regardless of how many fields they have filled. See the worked example below for a typical reading.Worked example
A representative reading of Required-Attribute Completeness for a typical Alibaba supplier. Suppose a supplier has 480 active listings and the card reads 84%, below the 90% threshold, with the gap concentrated in a recently added category where material and certification fields were left blank. The interpretation is that around 77 listings are under-specified and likely ranking below complete competitors, so the fix is a focused pass to fill the missing category attributes, which should lift the score back over threshold and recover search visibility. For deeper investigation into which categories are dragging the score, use Vortex Mind to trace upstream causes; to ask which specific listings are incomplete in plain English, use Ask Viq.Sibling cards merchants should reference together

Reconciling against Alibaba Seller dashboard
Where to look in Alibaba’s own dashboard: Attribute and listing-quality prompts appear in My Alibaba under Product Management, where Alibaba flags listings with missing required fields and offers an optimisation or quality-improvement view. Confirm period boundaries and filter settings match the Vortex IQ profile to reconcile cleanly. Why the Vortex IQ value may legitimately differ:| Reason | Direction | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Period boundary. Vortex IQ reports the live current state; Alibaba’s quality prompts may refresh on their own optimisation cycle. | Variable | Compare against Alibaba’s latest optimisation run. |
| Time zone. Edits applied near a day boundary may be counted on different sides; Vortex IQ aligns to your merchant reporting time zone. | Marginal | Confirm time zone match. |
| Filter scope. Profile-level filters (storefront, product line) may narrow which listings Vortex IQ scores. | Variable | Match filter settings. |
