At a glance

Same Item Priced Differently vs Mercari / Vinted is the price-parity card for sellers who list the same stock across Depop and rival resale marketplaces like Mercari and Vinted. It lists items where the Depop price has drifted meaningfully from the price you set elsewhere. A wide spread is money left on the table when Depop is cheaper, or lost sales when Depop is dearer, and it usually means a price change on one channel never reached the others.
What it countsItems listed on Depop and at least one rival marketplace whose price spread exceeds your tolerance, listed row by row with the gap.
Sample typeCross-channel comparison of Depop integration data against rival marketplace listings, refreshed on the standard data refresh.
Why it mattersInconsistent pricing across marketplaces erodes margin or kills conversion depending on which way it leans. Buyers comparison-shop the same resale platforms, so a visible gap can cost a sale or undercut your own price. The fix is usually one missed sync.
Reading the valueEach row is an item to reprice. A few small spreads are normal; a count above roughly five items with more than a 15 percent spread signals a pricing-sync gap worth fixing systematically.

Calculation

The card matches items listed on Depop and on rival marketplaces, computes the price spread for each, and lists those exceeding the spread tolerance. Vortex IQ reads prices from the Depop integration and the comparison channels and matches on the shared item identifier. Both the spread tolerance and the item-count threshold are configurable in the Sensitivity tab.

Worked example

A representative reading of Same Item Priced Differently vs Mercari / Vinted for a typical multi-marketplace reseller on Depop. The card flagged 7 items above a 15 percent spread. Vortex Mind showed five were priced higher on Depop after a markdown applied only on Vinted, and two were cheaper on Depop after a Depop-only sale ended without a matching update. The seller realigned the five high-on-Depop items to recover conversion and lifted the two underpriced ones to protect margin. To review the spread, ask Ask Viq for items where the Depop price differs from Vinted by more than 15 percent.

Reconciling against Depop

Where to look in Depop’s own dashboard: Depop shows only its own price, with no view of rival marketplaces, so the spread is invisible there. Reconcile by opening a flagged item on Depop and comparing its price directly against the same listing on Mercari or Vinted. Why the Vortex IQ value may legitimately differ:
ReasonDirectionWhat to do
Match key. Comparison relies on matching the same item across marketplaces.VariableConfirm item mapping is reliable.
Spread tolerance. The percentage that counts as a meaningful gap is configurable.VariableCheck your Sensitivity setting.
Fee and currency basis. Marketplaces differ on fees and currency, which can justify some spread.VariableDecide whether to compare list price or net.
Cross-connector reconciliation: this card only works because Vortex IQ reads Depop alongside rival marketplaces. Read it with catalogue drift for the complete pricing-integrity view. For divergence investigations, use Vortex Mind.

Known limitations / merchant FAQs

Q: How often does this card update? The card refreshes on the standard data refresh (typically every 30-60 minutes for live integrations), recomparing prices across marketplaces each cycle. Q: Some spread is intentional. Does the card account for that? It flags spreads above your tolerance, so set the threshold to reflect deliberate channel pricing. Items within tolerance do not appear; only gaps wide enough to matter are listed. Q: Should Depop always be the cheapest channel? Not necessarily. The point is intent, not uniformity. Decide your channel pricing strategy, then use the card to catch unintended drift away from it rather than enforcing identical prices. Q: Can I customise the alert threshold? Yes, both the spread tolerance and the item-count threshold are configurable per profile in the Sensitivity tab.
