Vortex IQ is adding PrestaShop coverage so European SMB and mid-market merchants get the same executive Nerve Centre view that Shopify and BigCommerce stores rely on.

What is PrestaShop?

PrestaShop is a French open-source ecommerce platform first released in 2007. It is PHP and MySQL based, has an active module marketplace called PrestaShop Addons, and powers a large share of independent online stores across France, Spain, Italy, Poland, and the wider EU. It runs in two flavours: self-hosted on a merchant’s own infrastructure, or PrestaShop Cloud (Hosted), which bundles hosting, security updates, and support. PrestaShop tends to be picked by SMB and mid-market merchants who want a feature-rich, locally adapted platform with strong multi-language, multi-currency, and EU-tax support, without the licence cost or operational weight of Adobe Commerce.

Why Vortex IQ tracks PrestaShop

PrestaShop ships a serviceable back office with a built-in stats dashboard, but the executive view (revenue, refund rate, OOS spike, churn risk, cross-channel revenue at risk) is not there out of the box. Larger PrestaShop merchants typically supplement with paid analytics modules, third party BI tools, or custom SQL, all of which add cost and operational drag. Vortex IQ Nerve Centre folds PrestaShop into the same KPI model used for Shopify, BigCommerce, and Adobe Commerce. The connector reads orders, products, customers, stock movements, and refunds through the Webservice API (and direct read-only database access where the API does not expose a needed field), then renders the same cards, alerts, and Ask Viq narratives the rest of the platform supports. PrestaShop stays the system of record. Vortex IQ is the always-on pulse layer.

What you can monitor (when KPI cards launch)

Planned coverage maps PrestaShop’s order, product, customer, and stock tables onto the executive KPI structure already running for other commerce platforms:
  • Total revenue, order count, average order value, and trend across 7, 30, and 90 day windows, currency-aware for multi-currency shops.
  • Order status mix (awaiting payment, processing, shipped, delivered, refunded, cancelled) and status-spike alerting.
  • Refund rate, partial vs full refund mix, and refunded order count, with rate-spike alerts.
  • Inventory health: out of stock, low stock, products with stock tracking disabled, and combination-level (variant) stock signals.
  • Catalogue health: products missing image, description, EAN/UPC, or SEO meta.
  • Customer health: new vs returning customers, repeat purchase rate, top customers by spend, and churn risk on inactive customers.
  • Multi-shop breakdowns for merchants running multiple PrestaShop shops on one back office.
  • VAT and tax collected views, useful for cross-EU sellers tracking OSS thresholds.
Cross-channel cards (ad spend on OOS SKUs, marketplace drift, pagespeed-driven cart loss) light up when a PrestaShop store is paired with Google Ads, Amazon, or a website performance source.

Detailed KPI cards in active development

The PrestaShop adapter is in build. Each KPI card documents the exact PrestaShop table or Webservice resource used (orders, order_detail, product, stock_available, customer, address, currency), the calculation, why it matters, and the playbook for when sentiment shifts. Cards follow the same hero / non-hero / cross-channel layout used across the Nerve Centre. PrestaShop 1.7 and 8.x are the initial focus, covering both self-hosted and PrestaShop Cloud (Hosted) instances. Older 1.6 instances are supported on request.
