Card class: Non-HeroCategory: Ranking Analysis

At a glance

Queries Entering Top 10 is a table of the search terms whose average position climbed into the top 10 (page one) this period, broken down row by row. Crossing onto page one unlocks the steepest CTR gains, so these are your fresh organic wins. Use the list to double down: the terms just over the line are the ones to push from page-one to top-three.

What it tracks

The card lists Queries Entering Top 10, broken down by row, comparing average position period on period from the Search Console Search Analytics API. A query qualifies when its average position was worse than 10 in the prior period and is now 10 or better, meaning it has just reached page one of the Search results. This is the inverse of a top-10 drop and it carries the same CTR-cliff logic in your favour: a query crossing from position 11 to 9 typically unlocks a large jump in clicks for the same impression volume. Each row shows the term, its old and new average position, and clicks and impressions so you can see which wins are already converting and which have headroom. New page-one entries usually trace back to a content refresh, new internal links, improved page experience, fresh backlinks, or a competitor slipping. The practical play is momentum: a term newly at position 8 to 10 is often a small push (better title and meta match to intent, an FAQ block, structured data for rich-result eligibility, a tightened on-page focus) away from the top three, where the bulk of organic clicks sit. Read each row against your website’s organic search presence: rising terms with strong impressions are demand you have just started capturing and are worth investing in before a competitor reacts.

Reconciling against the source

Reconcile against Search Console, Performance, Search results, grouping by Query, enabling Average position, and using date comparison across the same two periods. Search Console data is typically 2 to 3 days delayed, average position is impression-weighted (so a query hovering near the boundary can read either side of 10), rare queries are anonymised, and the UI caps at 1,000 rows; for the complete list, diff period-over-period query positions via the Search Analytics API.
